Our court line marking is precise, accuracy to international standards.

Below are some of the Indoor Line Marking courts we do:

Multi-sports indoor line marking of sports hard-court floor areas provides an acceptable alternative to individual markings. The following information provides some guidelines and recommendations on how this may be achieved.

For a multi-sports hall, a range of colours is required to avoid confusion. However, there are recognised colour schemes that are widely used. The general rule of operation is the faster the ball game the lighter the colour of the court marking.

There also must be an allowance for ‘run-off’ areas for different sports. It is important to ensure that the minimum space around the court is maintained for each individual sport. Any sport or local government attempting to save money by reducing court sizes is setting up the potential for future litigation. If space is limited, the governing body’s recommendations on run-offs should always prevail.

The width of the line for Basketball Court line marking 50mm, Netball Courts line marking 50mm, Futsal Courts line marking 50mm, Badminton Courts line marking 40mm, Volleyball Courts line marking 50mm,

Colours recommended for light timber sports floors are white, black, red, yellow, green, dark blue, light blue, orange and yellow. Colours recommended for dark timber sports floors are white, yellow, red, light blue, light green and orange.
As a rule of thumb, the most frequently used sport is marked out in white, the second most played sport in yellow & black, followed by blue and red.

POPULAR QUESTIONS

  • How many coats do we apply and how long will it take?

We apply three coats of low VOC polyurethane timber floor coating made by Enviro Floors – a base coat and then two top coats. The second coat will look a bit rough, we call that grain raising, so in preparation for the 3rd coat we lightly sand and vacuum ready for the application of 3rd coat. Drying time is approximately 4 to 8 hours per coat and you can move furniture back 24 – 48 hours after the last coat depending on the weather.
All furniture must be lifted, rugs and mats can be placed onto the floor after 2 weeks. Put felt pads under all furniture.

  • Why are Polyurethane water based timber coatings better?

Polyurethane water based timber finishes contain water instead of solvents and are therefore better for the environment, being low in VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and easier to clean up. Brushes and other application equipment can be washed up in the water, whereas those used for solvent-based finishes need to be washed up in turpentine or thinners. Polyurethane water-based products are also quicker to dry, which often means you can apply all the coats required within one day.

  • What is the durability like?

Maintaining and caring for such a valuable asset as your floor can make a substantial impact on how long it will look great for, and also how long it may be before a new refurbishment coat may be required.
The durability of the coating on timber floors varies as to the amount of traffic and the bringing of outside grit into the house. These are a few handy tips to remember; it is always a good idea to have entrance matting at the door so that outside grit can be brushed off before entering the house. Removing outdoor shoes and only wearing indoor shoes inside helps to reduce surface scratches.

When it comes to wood, too much and too hot water is a no-no and can ruin your floors! Excessive wet patches can stain timber flooring and can even result in expanded and warped boards. The correct mop and mopping technique will prolong the life and beauty of your wooden floors, protecting your investment.
A mop water solution that is! Many people recommend using just water and vinegar.
If you care about your floors, don’t add anything harsh to the mop water like bleach or ammonia. Using a dedicated wood floor solution or just a little soap in the mop water will ensure dirt is better lifted and bring back that beautiful timber gleam.
