Below are some of the Indoor Court Line Marking we do:
Basketball Courts
Netball Courts

Wheel Chair Rugby Courts

Our Multi-sports indoor line marking of timber hard-court floor areas provides an acceptable alternative to individual markings.

The following information provides some guidelines and recommendations on how this may be achieved.

For a multi-sports hall, a range of colours are required to avoid confusion.

However, there are recognised colour schemes that are widely used.

Sports Court Line Marking

The general rule of operation is the faster the ball game the lighter the colour of the court marking.

For players safety, an allowance for ‘run-off’ areas for different sports would be advisable.

The width of the line marking for Basketball Court is 50mm and the colour is mainly White or Black.

The width of the line marking for Netball Courts is 50mm and the colour is mainly White or Black.

The width of the line marking for Futsal Courts is 50mm & there is no specific colour.

The width of the line marking for Badminton Courts is 40mm and the colour is mainly Yellow.

The width of the line marking for Volleyball is 50mm and the colour is mainly Green.

The width of the line marking for Wheel Chair Rugby Courts is 50mm and the colour is mainly Green

As a rule of thumb, the most frequently used sport is marked out in white, the second most played sport in yellow & black, followed by, green, blue and red.

Plus we do travel all over Australia to do our work.

POPULAR QUESTIONS

  • How many coats do we apply and how long will it take?

We apply three coats of Enviro Floors timber floor coating with low VOC polyurethane – a base coat and then two topcoats. The second coat will look a bit rough, we call that grain raising, so in preparation for the 3rd coat we lightly sand and vacuum ready for the application of 3rd coat. Drying time is approximately 4 to 8 hours per coat and you can move furniture back 24 – 48 hours after the last coat depending on the weather. Also, leave the floor for 1 week before you play on the surface.
All furniture must be lifted, large door mats can be placed on the inside & outside of doorways, these help in protecting your floors. Put felt pads under all furniture.

  • Why are Polyurethane water based timber coatings better?

Polyurethane water based timber finishes contain water instead of solvents and are therefore better for the environment, being low in VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and easier to clean up. Brushes and other application equipment can be washed up in the water, whereas those used for solvent-based finishes need to be washed up in turpentine or thinners. Polyurethane water-based products are also quick to dry, which often means you can apply all the coats required within 1 to 2 days. Also with our timber coating sports floor system, you don’t have to re-coat every year, but you must do a deep wash and clean every year. Our re-coating schedule is every 2 years so it saves your $$$$$.  A full sand back to bear timber is every 5 – 7 years. Why would you go anywhere else to get your sports floors, line-marking or re-coating from?

  • What is the durability like?

Maintaining and caring for such a valuable asset as your floor can make a substantial impact on how long it will look great for, and also how long it may be before a new refurbishment coat may be required.
The durability of the coating on timber floors varies as to the amount of traffic and the bringing of outside grit into the floor. These are a few handy tips to remember; it is always a good idea to have entrance matting at the door so that outside grit can be brushed off before entering the floor. Removing outdoor shoes and only wearing non-marking sports shoes inside helps to reduce surface scratches.

When it comes to timber, too much water & hot water is a no-no and can ruin your floors! Excessive wet patches can stain timber flooring and can even result in expanded and warped boards. The correct mopping or machine used will prolong the life and beauty of your wooden floors, protecting your investment.
If you care about your floors, don’t add anything harsh chemicals to the mop water like bleach or ammonia. Using a dedicated timber floor cleaning solution like our Enviro Floors 3in1 floor cleaner will ensure it brings back that beautiful timber gleam again. Please go to our online shop to purchase our cleaner & we do sell it in bulk containers.
